Will the color of the bulb be a true red, blue, green, etc.

The Incandescent bulbs have a white light inside and the bulb is dipped in color. Because the light inside is white the color on the outside is muted. If you want a true color, please look at the LED bulbs, these have a colored light inside as well as the bulb having the same color.
